Attend Saturday Classroom from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM, then return Sunday for driving from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM Classrooms are air conditioned, with comfortable leather chairs, free coffee, donuts, pure water, and soft drinks. TCP TRAFFIC CONTROL FLAGGING ( DGS-TCP 57742-08 ) 

Two day Flagging Course. Low/Moderate Risk Course.( As defined in OHS Guidelines, Part 18, Traffic Control )

In the Province of British Columbia, WorkSafeBC states, “ that in moderate risk situations, the comprehensive TCP training for high risk workplaces is not neccessary”. However, training for Low/Moderate Risk Workplace TCP’s, must address at a minimum the points described below.

This course addresses training that includes an overview of basic traffic control techniques, including setting up and taking down of basic traffic control devices at a work site, proper hand signals, and proper positioning. Instruction on personal protective clothing, and safety equipment, responding to aggressive drivers, identifying an escape route, and reporting of near misses and incidences that occur. This TCP training for low/moderate risk workplaces includes, in class coursework, as well as practical practice sessions in a controlled environment. Training at this level may be delivered by a third party.

Skid-Steer Loader Operator Course ( DGS - SSL 58342-08 )

Unlike Forklift Classes which run every weekend, the Skid-Steer course is a pre-sign up course that requires a wait list until we reach a minimum class size of 5 participants. Classroom usually runs from 8:30 AM to about 1:00 PM, then Operator Driving takes place, continuing until 4 or 5 pm, or the next day, 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, depending on students.

Support personnel bring all participants their choice of breakfast or lunch from the local Fast Food, and you are required to dress appropriately for cold, wet, or inclement weather. You will be taking part in an actual working field assignment, guaranteed to give you a good basic working knowledge of how to effectively use a Skid-Steer Loader, How to operate Safely, handle pre-trip inspections, and to understand all aspects of how to safely use this versatile piece of important equipment.

WHMIS Course ( DGS- WHMIS 44303-08 )

One day Course. The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is Canada’s hazard communication standard. The key elements of the system are cautionary labelling of containers of WHMIS “controlled products”, the provision of material safety data sheets (MSDSs) and worker education programs. WHMIS is implemented through coordinated federal, provincial and territorial legislation. Supplier labelling and MSDS requirements are set out under the Hazardous Products Act and associated Controlled Products Regulations. The Hazardous Products Act and its regulations are administered by the Government of Canada Department of Health, commonly referred to as Health Canada. Familiarity with WHMIS information and requirements for both management and workers is a must for successful job seekers in todays competitive environment.

FALL PROTECTION Course ( DGS - FPC 87854-08 )

Two day Fall Protection Course. Training programs are required in industry where Fall Protection is required to teach employees who might be exposed to fall hazards how to recognize such hazards and how to minimize them. Participants are trained in the following areas: (a) the nature of fall hazards in the work area; (b) the correct procedures for erecting, maintaining, disassembling, and inspecting fall protection systems; (c) the use and operation of controlled access zones and guardrail, personal fall arrest, safety net, warning line, and safety monitoring systems; (d) the role of each employee in the safety monitoring system when the system is in use; (e) the limitations on the use of mechanical equipment during the performance of roofing work on low-sloped roofs; (f) the correct procedures for equipment and materials handling and storage and the erection of overhead protection; and, (g) employees’ role in fall protection plans. Day 1 Classroom/ Theory. Day 2 Practical Applications, use of Equipment and Final Test.
